Southampton goalscorer Danny Ings frustrated after Arsenal point

Southampton striker Danny Ings admitted some frustration after their 2-2 draw with Arsenal.

Ings struck in the four goal thriller.

“It's mixed emotions really," Ings said. “I think looking at the game before we kicked off, you'd have probably taken a point, but coming off the pitch, you're gutted we didn't win.

“That's credit to the team and the fans today. We put everything into it and the fans were great behind us – it's gutting not to get the three points, but we have to take confidence moving forward.

“I thought we played some great football today. Off the ball we were pressing a lot and left nothing out on the pitch, so it's definitely a step forward that we can build on.

“We knew how tough it was going to be. They've got some top players, and we knew we'd have to be on it from the start.

“To come here, play the way we did and create as many chances as we did, was a huge step for us.

“It's important we build in the next few games, improve even more than we have done so far in this tough period, and keep moving forward as a club."
