Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino wasn't surprised by Jay Rodriguez's performance in victory over Liverpool.

Rodriguez set them on the way with a knockdown that helped put Southampton in front. He followed that up with a super solo goal that wrapped up three very precious survival points.

Southampton boss Pochettino brushed off praise for Rodriguez. He said: "All my players go out with the same hunger.

"I know what Jay is capable of. Today we had a lot of chances but the result made it look as if we played better than we have done."
