Southampton boss Ronald Koeman insists Robin van Persie still has plenty to offer Manchester United.
Van Persie, despite being a close friend of Louis van Gaal, has yet to establish his place in the United side.
Koeman has no doubts. He said: "I think he's one of the best strikers.
"He scored a great goal against Hull but you know if you are a player at the highest level and you are not scoring, or the team is not winning, then you will get criticised about that.
"He's a great player and one of the best Dutch strikers that we have."
