Southampton boss Ronald Koeman is chasing Real Madrid Castilla midfielder Martin Odegaard.

The Mirror says Koeman wants to sign Odegaard on loan next season.

The Saints' Koeman sent his scouts to watch midfielder Odegaard, 16, play for Real Madrid Castilla - Real's B team - on Sunday.

The Norwegian rejected a move to St Mary's to join the Spanish giants from Stromsgodset in January.

Teen sensation Odegaard - dubbed 'the new Messi' - also had offers from Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Ajax and Barcelona.
