Southampton boss Ronald Koeman is delighted to be counting on Toby Alderweireld this season.
Alderweireld helped Atletico to the La Liga title last season and Koeman admits he fought off interest from rival clubs to bring him to the south coast.
Koeman said: "Other teams were interested in Toby so I'm happy he chose Southampton. He knows me and I know him from his period at Ajax. He will bring a lot of quality."
