Southampton boss Ronald Koeman is confident Graziano Pelle will prove value for money.

The striker follows Koeman from Feyenoord to the south coast.

"I always felt that Pellè can play at a higher level," said Koeman to NIS. "In the Netherlands we often claimed his success was due to the poor defences in the league.

"Fortunately we came third at the World Cup. That shows that the defenders in the Netherlands are not so bad."
