Southampton boss Ronald Koeman admits coaching the Holland national team remains an ambition.

Koeman concedes being overlooked for the post last summer still burns.

"I'm done with it, I've said what I wanted to say about it. Perhaps that was the first time I had not pushed for it," Koeman said. "Normally I manage to always do things pretty well.

"It is of course crazy that the next coach Danny Blind is already known. I just want one more time at a World Cup or European Championship to work with the Oranje. I do not know when, or if it is ever going to happen.

"It is something missing in my career as a trainer."
