Southampton boss Ronald Koeman is delighted with Maya Yoshida's new deal.

Yoshida has signed a new contract at Saints, which runs until 2018.

"Very pleased about that, because in my opinion he is an example of how you have to deal with the job as a football player - always very serious, always doing his best, always the team in front of himself," said Koeman.

"For the coaches, it's always nice to have those kind of players, because he can always play in different positions and I'm very happy."
