Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has rejected claims that his club is set to sign Wesley Sneijder this winter.
Reports have been heavily linking the Saints with the Galatasaray midfielder partly due to the fact that he and his former Ajax boss Koeman share the same agent.
While Dutch tactician Koeman admits he would love to bring the former Real Madrid and Inter Milan man to St Mary's, he is well aware of the financial restraint the transfer would place on the south coast club.
"Of course we are interested, but we can't pay him," said Koeman.
"I know how much he makes because we have the same agent. He would put us way over our budget."
