Southampton boss Nigel Adkins is excited about record signing Gaston Ramirez.

Saints lost their first three league matches until former Bologna ace Ramirez, 21, helped inspire a 4-1 win over Aston Villa at St Mary's on Saturday.

He is expected to face the Owls tonight and boss Adkins said: "He's a smashing little man and a quality footballer.

"The players have warmed to him already. He doesn't know the language but he knows football. Gaston's given us a boost."
