Liverpool face competition from Southampton for Inter Milan midfielder Philippe Coutinho.
Inter have already rejected a bid of €8 million from Liverpool for the Brazilian in recent days.
Sky Sports says Southampton are now stepping in with an offer of €16 million.
New Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino worked with Coutinho while in charge of Espanyol last season.
