South Korea captain Park helps Man Utd to Carling Cup win

South Korea national team captain Park Ji-sung was on the scoresheet as Manchester United limped past Wolves 3-2 in the fourth round of the Carling Cup.

Relative unknown Portuguese signing Bebe marked his first United start with a 56th minute opener before George Elokobi hit back for Wolves four minutes later at Old Trafford.

But Park rallied for the home side when he made a strong run into the area, laid it off for Federico Macheda and fortuitously it deflected back into his path, allowing him to finish neatly to make it 2-1 in the 70th minute.

Wolves again hit back, this time through Kevin Foley in the 76th minute before new United hero Javier Hernandez grabbed a late winner, showing his class and poise to send the Red Devils through to the next round of the competition they took out last season.

It was just Park's second goal of the season, following up his 54th minute strike in the third round 5-2 win over Scunthorpe United.
