Winger Robert Snodgrass hopes Scotland boss Gordon Strachan deploys he and Norwich City teammate Russell Martin together in the same team.
The Canaries right-sided flankers have both been selected in the Scottish squad for upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Wales and Serbia and Snodgrass feels it would be a good idea to use two players on the same side of the pitch who know each other's game inside out.
"I haven't played with Russ for Scotland," Snodgrass told the Daily Record.
"You need to be ready for whoever you're playing with at this level. It doesn't matter who's in front of you or who's behind you.
"But it would help a lot more if you were playing with these players week in, week out.
"We maybe get five days training beforehand but playing with guys from your club team does help."
