Smith will wait until summer for decision on Motherwell contract

Motherwell keeper Graeme Smith will decide on his Motherwell future once the current campaign has ended. Smith has held contract talks with manager Mark McGhee but he claims both are happy to wait for an outcome.

"Just now I don't know where my future is going to be and that's the truth," the 25-year-old said.

"It will probably run to the summer before it's sorted but there is no timescale on my behalf or the club's.

"I've not made my mind up. It's not just one thing about staying or going, there are a lot of issues. I might fancy trying something new, I don't know."

The former Rangers stopper insists performances are more important than forcing through contract talks.

"Speaking to the manager, we are both concentrating on getting the club up the league," he said.

"It's not a big issue. It's more important that I'm doing well for the club week in, week out, than signing a new deal just now."
