Rangers boss Walter Smith is delighted with the way Jean-Claude Darcheville has quickly settled at Ibrox.
"But Jean-Claude has settled in right away. He is an experienced player, a confident lad and it's fair to say he is not the shy and retiring type off the pitch. He is a good type to have around.
"He wants to win all the time, which is an important characteristic for any player at this club, and he has got an edge to him. It was just a pity he had a slow start to the season on the pitch because of that Achilles injury. It has cleared up now and we are seeing the best of him.
"There were a few candidates in the team to take the penalty kick against Stuttgart, with Kris Boyd not being on the pitch, but Jean-Claude was keen to take it and I was pleased to see him do so."
