Former Arsenal striker Alan Smith wants Arsene Wenger to buy Morgan Schneiderlin and Petr Cech.

The French midfielder is set to leave Southampton this summer with recent reports suggesting that Manchester United are preparing a £25million move for his services.

Veteran goalkeeper Petr Cech wants to leave Chelsea and is available for £10m which has suggested to Sky Sports pundit Smith has implored Wenger to show some intent and go after these sorts of players.

"You could buy Petr Cech for £10m, which isn't big in terms of the fee," he told Sky Sports News HQ.

"You can buy players that can make a difference, like Morgan Schneiderlin, who is available for £25m. That's not a big fee for Arsenal these days, when you look at how much they paid for Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.

"I think he is trying to dip into the transfer market but it's the positions that he is going to try and recruit that will be interesting."
