Sky Sports secures TV rights for New Zealand

Sky Sport has agreed an eight-year deal with Fifa for the TV rights in New Zealand to soccer's biggest tournaments, including the 2018 and 2022 editions of the Fifa World Cup, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/. The pay-TV broadcaster will also be entitled to air all editions of the Women's World Cup, Confederations Cup, men's and women's U17 and U20 World Cups, and global tournaments in futsal and beach soccer.

Sky Sport has already secured an agreement to show this year's Fifa U20 World Cup, which is being played in New Zealand from 30th May to 20th June.

"It's terrific to have these amazing events locked in for the next eight years," said Sky director of sport Richard Last. "We witnessed how magical the Fifa World Cup can be with Sky's coverage of Brazil 2014, and I'm sure the next two events in Russia and Qatar will be equally as impressive."
