Former Rangers owner and chairman Sir David Murray is prepared to help current chief Charles Green in his bid to improve the standing of the once great club.
'Gers find themselves in Scotland's Third Division after falling into liquidation during the summer and are now facing further sanctions if found guilty of paying players and staff with an Employee Benefit Trust (EBT) to avoid tax costs.
Green met with Murray earlier this week and has revealed that there will be help forthcoming from the Scottish businessman.
"I met Sir David for the first time on Tuesday. Indeed I hadn't even spoken with him before," Yorkshireman Green said.
"We had a good chat and we talked about a number of subjects.
"Sir David is really keen to help the club. I welcome that and I appreciate the time we spent together.
"He has some clear views in terms of EBTs and there is no one knows better than Sir David about that and he is prepared to do whatever is required to set the record straight.
"I am looking forward to seeing him and meeting with him again because he has a wealth of knowledge of Rangers Football Club.
"He was very important to this club over the last 20 years."
