Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone was proud of his players after their Champions League defeat at Real Madrid.

Real striker Chicharito, on loan from Manchester United popped up in the 87th minute to finish from close range.

Simeone said, "I'm going away proud of my team because of the way they competed tonight. My team is a team of men.

"They showed that, whatever happens, you have to compete. If you give your maximum out there, you can go home happy. I have no negative sensations with tonight's game - I'm sure there are coaches who would be jealous at not having those players in their teams."
