Manchester City winger David Silva says failure to reach the Carling Cup final would be a "disaster".
Spanish midfielder Silva says Liverpool hold "no fears" for them but admits title favourites are desperate to win the trophy after crashing out of the FA Cup and Champions League.
Silva said: "If we win on Wednesday then it will give us a lot of belief for the title race. It will be a disaster if we don't reach Wembley as to fail in three competitions is not something we planned for.
"But we have so much belief after beating Spurs."
