Sigurdsson confident of Tottenham's Champions League quest

Gylfi Sigurdsson insists no doubt has crept into the minds of the Tottenham players despite a couple of poor results.

Spurs are down to fourth on the Premier League table after back-to-back league defeats, with North London rivals Arsenal closing the gap in fifth, but Sigurdsson is not about to lose belief.

The Icelandic midfielder claims Tottenham still have the quality to push for a top-four finish and compete in the Champions League next season despite their recent league losses and the 4-1 capitulation in the Europa League Round of 16 second leg to Inter Milan on Thursday (they got through on away goals).

"We just need to pick ourselves up, stay together and perform well until the end of the season," said Sigurdsson in the wake of the shock 1-0 home loss to Fulham on Sunday.

"It (a top-four finish) is in our hands and we are in a good position to make sure we get the Champions League spot.

"We showed during the season that we are more than capable.

"Even though (we've had) a couple of bad results, we won't start doubting ourselves.

"It's down to us now and we have just got to make sure we are playing the way we've been playing throughout the season."
