Shrewsbury undecided on future of Aussie midfielder Wesolowski

Shrewsbury Town say they will not rush a decision on the future of midfielder James Wesolowski after he suffered two cruciate ligament injuries in 2015, reports BBC Sport.

The 28-year-old will not play again this season and his current deal expires next summer.

"We just need to make sure we get everything right with him and that's what we'll be doing," boss Micky Mellon told BBC Radio Shropshire.

"The main thing is to get him fit. Let's not cloud it with anything else."

He added: "He's been a massive loss to us for two long periods now and it's easy to forget we've lost one of our best players."

The Australian had surgery and is now undergoing rehabilitation, which includes him pulling heavy weights to regain strength.

"It looks like he's towing a big weighted sledge, so it's quite apt for this time of the year. He's charging up and down the corridor like a madman," added Mellon.
