West Bromwich Albion defender Nicky Shorey admits it is great to have leading goalscorer Shane Long back in the line-up.
The Republic of Ireland international returned from a two-match Premier League absence with a knee injury to score the winner as the Baggies defeated Bolton 2-1 on Saturday and Shorey was happy to see his former Reading teammate back causing trouble for the opposition defence.
"He has worked hard to get back, that is the type of guy he is, and he gives us that extra dimension," Shorey told Express & Star. "He is important for our team because of the way he plays and the way we like to play.
"He unsettles players at the back. Hard work is the platform on which Shane starts from and he knows that if he's hassling defenders he's helping us at the back.
"It feels like he's everywhere on the pitch at times.
"I think he has been frustrated at missing out on the Ireland games but he knows his time will come."
