Shimizu S-Pulse remain undefeated in Japan

Shimizu S-Pulse are the only undefeated team in Japan's J-League after a solid 2-1 away win over Yokohama Marinos.

Two first half goals Shinji Okazaki set the team on their way and despite conceding an 85th minute goal to Norihisa Shimizu, ended the 90 minutes in front and kept their spot on top of the league table.

Promoted club Cerezo Osaka recorded their first top flight victory of the season with a 3-1 win over Kyoto Sanga whilst Montedio Yamagata defeated Sanfrecce Hiroshima 1-0.

Nagoya Grampus won 2-0 at home over Vissel Kobe thanks to a brace from Montenegrin midfielder Igor Burzanovic as Urawa Reds beat Shonan Bellmare 2-1, Vegalta Sendai went to third with a 2-1 win over Kashima Antlers as a Tae-Se Chong double gave Kawasaki Frontale a 2-1 win over FC Tokyo.

And in the match of the round, Jubilo Iwata and Gamba Osaka played out a classic with the former saluting 4-3. Two goals each from Ryoichi Maeda and Joo-Ho Park did the job for Jubilo as promising Japanese striker Shoki Hirai netted a double for Gamba.
