Sherwood's Aston Villa turnaround has been 'crazy' - Vlaar

Ron Vlaar has labeled the turnaround of Aston Villa under the guidance of Tim Sherwood as 'crazy'.

The West Midlands club have moved to relative safety in the Premier League and have qualified for the final of the FA Cup since Sherwood took over on February 14 and defender Vlaar admits it has been a frantic but enjoyable ride.

"Things change in football," said Vlaar. "It wasn't so good earlier in the year but that's football. It's crazy - but it's also a fact.

"The new manager came in and we all felt it was a new start. It's never good when someone has to go but it felt like a fresh start.

"We started to play better. The results got better. And the only thing that gives you confidence is winning games, so this win will give us another massive boost.

"We're ready to go again and focus on the league. Then the final is big. Really big. But we have to believe we can win it."

Villa currently sit in 15th position with 32 points in the league ahead of the weekend's trip to Manchester City. They will face Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley on May 30.
