Sherwood says Aston Villa now targeting Europe!

Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood joked that his side is now going after a European spot.

The Birmingham outfit picked up their first Premier League win in 13 outings with a 2-1 result over West Bromwich Albion in the West Midlands derby on Tuesday night and the jubilant Sherwood was now gunning for the top seven.

"The lads are a little bit miserable that they did not score four," Sherwood joked with reporters, clearly enjoying his first win as Villa boss.

"We're aiming for Europe next!"

Villa have some work to do if they want to be a realistic chance of qualifying for European competition as they sit 19 points behind seventh-placed Tottenham with 10 matches remaining - a situation of which Sherwood is well aware.
