Tim Sherwood admits Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish urged him to go for the Tottenham job when it became available.

Sherwood played for Dalglish at Blackburn Rovers.

He said: "I asked Kenny about the pros and cons of going into it. He told me it was a complete lifestyle change because it takes up so much of your life.

"But he also gave me good confidence because he felt that if anyone could do it would be me. He said he knew that from my mentality."
