Sheffield Wednesday boss Dave Jones was delighted with goalscorer Mamady Sidibe in victory at Bolton Wanderers.
The striker was set to return to Stoke City when his original one-month loan expired over the weekend.
But Owls boss Dave Jones struck a deal with the Premier League side to keep the hitman until January 19.
Jones said: "He deserved that goal because he has had an horrendous couple of years.
"It was the perfect centre-forward's goal.
"He got in front of the defender and the centre-half knew there was nothing he could do about it.
"And it was the perfect away performance from us."
