Sheffield Wednesday and Coventry City are chasing Newcastle United striker Nile Ranger.
The Mirror says Ranger was loaned out to ChampionshipBarnsley and then to Wednesday, where he scored two goals in eight games to help them secure promotion to the second tier.
Owls boss Dave Jones was impressed by the former England Under-19 international and is keen to bring him back on a full-time basis.
