Sheffield United midfielder Oliver Norwood is happy at how his side have proven the critics wrong about their Premier League chances.

The newly promoted club were written off by most pundits as certainties to go down.

But they have thrived in the top flight and could win European qualification for next season.

Sheffield United are seventh in the table, only four points off a Champions League spot.

Norwood told reporters: "It's motivation, isn't it.

"I read something Shaun Dyche (the Burnley manager) was talking about not so long ago, about how a piece in a pre-match programme when they went away from home had put the bit between the teeth of his lads.

"Well it's the same here, with what people were saying about us."
