Hibernian boss Pat Fenlon has made it clear that David Wotherspoon is a wanted player at Easter Road despite being linked with Sheffield United.
The 22-year old midfielder started just 20 top flight matches for Hibs last season with his omission from the Scottish Cup final team fuelling speculation that he could be on his way out this summer.
But Fenlon insists that Perth-born Wotherspoon will feature more for the Edinburgh club next season if he starts to believe in himself a little more.
"Last year wasn't a great one for him but I hope he comes back refreshed and wants to prove a point.
"He's shown what he's capable of doing but I feel he just needs to have a little bit more confidence in himself.
"He is such a good lad and his attitude to training is top class.""He is very much in my plans," said Fenlon told the Edinburgh Evening News.
