Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has slammed yet another dismal FA Cup attempt.
Shearer isn't surprised by another poor season.
"They are proving to be what I expected them to be," Shearer, who played in two FA Cup finals with Newcastle, told the Evening Chronicle. "Hopeless in the cups and around 10, 11, or 12th in the league.
"However it's the attitude to the FA Cup that particularly annoys me. United go out at bottom of the league Leicester but look at the quarter-finals. They include Bradford v Reading and Aston Villa v West Bromwich. The opportunity was there to make a huge impression and maybe go on to Wembley.
"It was the same last season with Sheffield United v Charlton, Hull City v Sunderland, and Wigan winning at Man City."
