Newcastle United and England legend Alan Shearer believes Wayne Rooney could make the difference for Manchester United in the title race.
Shearer admits he's amazed by how competitive the Premier League is this season.
He told Absolute Radio: "Well I don't think I can remember a season like it where it's been so open, where everyone's sort of beating each other. I mean, some of the results this year have been freakish if you like and you'd never ever have predicted them, but having said that, that makes for an exciting league.
"We've got four, five, maybe six teams that are in with a shout this year of winning the Premier League, and again there's been some scintillating football, and everyone says that Manchester United are not playing particularly well but they're unbeaten and they seem now to have their main man back in, Wayne Rooney."
Shearer talks to Russ Williams on Absolute Radio extra in an exclusive interview ahead of the station's full live commentary coverage of Stoke vs Man City on Rock 'N' Roll Football Live this Saturday 27th November.
