Stoke City skipper Ryan Shawcross feels teammate Peter Crouch is playing some of the best football of his career.
Shawcross is too modest to trumpet his own claims to an international call up, but isn't so quiet in beating the drum for his team-mate.
"He offers a different threat and if you look to change it in the last 20 minutes and throw big Pete on, he will cause problems. So I would definitely like to have him if I was England manager."
Shawcross also told The Sentinel: "He's gained a yard of pace, looks strong and got in good areas. Hopefully, he can continue and keep on scoring goals.
"I know how difficult he is to play against because he scored quite a few for Spurs against me. We want to keep him in our team and keep him at our club. His record speaks for itself."
