Ashley Young has been impressed with the positivity shown by Manchester United teammate Luke Shaw after badly breaking his leg.

The 20-year-old left-back suffered a horror double fracture in the Champions League loss to PSV Eindhoven in Holland two weeks ago and is undergoing rehab in a bid to get back to action this season.

Despite the severity of the injury, England international Shaw has been putting on a brace face which has left an impact on both Young and United boss Louis van Gaal.

"Luke's injury was very disappointing," said Young.

"I have been in touch with him and been speaking to him and he seems very positive.

"The manager has said how surprised he was how positive he is but that is the type of kid he is."
