Shamrock boss cools Dundee Utd speculation

Shamrock Rovers manager Michael O'Neill is playing down reports linking him with Dundee United. O'Neill is reportedly one of the names in the frame to succeed Craig Levein after he left to take over the Scotland national team.

The former Brechin boss, who played for Wigan and Newcastle, insists any approach for his services much be made through the League of Ireland club.

"I've also been linked with Hibs and the Northern Ireland job and probably with the job in Tesco as well," stated O'Neill.

"It's nothing something I give credence to. My focus is here.

"If clubs are interested in pursuing me as their manager they have to speak to Shamrock Rovers."
