Sevilla have pulled out of their bid to sign Sporting Lisbon defender Daniel Carrico.

Sevilla have been attempting to close a deal with Sporting for Carrico for much of last month.

"We followed Carrico very closely during this season, but the circumstances were very hard," Monchi told Sevilla TV.

"First, because Sporting did not want to let him leave, and then because the player finally decided to stay at the club."
