Sevilla defender Sergio Ramos fumes after PSV draw: Ref looked like an idiot

Sevilla defender Sergio Ramos hit out at the referee after their 2-2 draw at Champions League opponents PSV.

Ramos was furious with red Daniele Orsato, particularly for the penalty he conceded.

He later said: "I have always said that the VAR is there to help. If you make the wrong decision, give you time to rectify and in this case, after seeing it 50 times, I don't even touch him.

"In fact, I take my foot away so it's clear that I don't touch the player or the ball and he tells me that he sees it very clearly.

"You are left looking like an idiot, to see things like that a referee should not be the protagonist, especially having the VAR.

"Respect for all teams is not the same.

"These are very quick decisions, but you have VAR to check and see more clearly. The penalty, the disallowed goal against Pedrosa, there are a lot of things. In this competition, there is always a more permissive refereeing, but it seemed that today it was 'Everything against us'.

"We have to keep learning because it's a shame that we lost three points which were very important. Respect for all clubs is not the same and I suffer from it with Sevilla. It seemed that until the score was tied, the match would never be over."
