Sevilla coach Lopetegui on hometown jeers after Man City defeat: The fans are sovereign

Sevilla coach Julen Lopetegui says he'll keep fighting after their Champions League defeat at home to Manchester City.

Sevilla lost 3-0 with players whistled by Sevilla fans during the 90 minutes.

Lopetegui said, "It's a complex moment. We have a cloud that we want to clear as soon as possible. We have had two tremendously demanding games, surely we are not at our cruising speed, which we need to be, for many reasons.

"And the only way out is to think about the League, there are 102 points left at stake. We have to think about reversing this situation. When things don't work out, these dynamics come.

"I'm strong, I'm still strong, for sure. We approach all the matches as finals."

Lopetegui understands the reaction from the stands: "I have not asked for patience, I have not asked for anything. The people are sovereign. I have felt the energy of all the fans supporting us in a complex moment. Then it is normal for them to be angry at losing two consecutive games at home against superior teams."
