Sevilla coach Diego Alonso was delighted with their 1-1 draw against Real Madrid.

The result marked an impressive debut for the Uruguayan.

He later said: "In general terms it was a good game, they did what I asked of them, to be brave and stand up. I feel proud of what they did, although there are things to improve, but it was very positive. We came from behind, we built, we looked for spaces... A lot to rescue, such as the dedication to press, defend and retreat... I am happy with what I have seen and a shame we didn't stay with the three points.

"It is the path that I like and the one that I have proposed to them. There is still a long way to go but the way to build from the belief that we are capable of doing things like today, to stand up without fear and without complexes. Be happy with that and not with the result, because the only thing that matters in this is winning.

"We trust in our tools and we will try to enhance them and impose ourselves. The atmosphere of this stadium has been as always, it has not changed since I was a player. I jumped onto the field and I remembered that, they are fantastic and they create a tremendous atmosphere. The team has given back what the people have given them, I hope we can continue it throughout the games. "
