Serie A struggles of ex-Man Utd star Vidic are normal - Inter Milan's Mancini

Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini believes Nemanja Vidic's tough start in Italy is not out of the ordinary.

The Serbian centre-half has struggled with the Nerazzurri since his summer move from Manchester United but Mancini is of the belief that Italy's top flight is a very difficult competition to step into no matter what your experience.

"I've known him since the two of us were in Manchester and I'm sure he'll be useful to us," he told Inter's official website on Wednesday.

"It's quite normal to encounter difficulties coming here because Italian football is totally different to the Premier League."

Recently, Vidic has been linked with a shock return to Old Trafford in the winter but Mancini's comments suggest that the 33-year old will be staying put at the San Siro as Inter loom to get their flailing season back on track.
