Sergio Ramos: Any Real Madrid player would've done the same as Fede Valverde

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos says Fede Valverde has the locker room's full support after their Supercopa de Espana final triumph over Aletico Madrid.

Valvede was sent off for taking out Atletico striker Alvaro Morata in a clear goalscoring position. The match eventually ended 0-0 before Real triumphed in the penalty shootout.

Ramos said of his midfield teammate: "I believe that any player of our squad if that situation touches him would have done it.

"It was a very decisive play that had to end."

Ramos, who scored the winning penalty, admits he could be facing time on the sidelines having played with an ankle injury on the night.

He added: "I have quite a pain in my ankle. I was a little scared and as time went by it got cooler and it hurt more, but in the end when you're in the dynamics and know that there is so much at stake, you forget the pain. But now I'm pretty screwed up and hopefully it's not long (that I'm out)."
