Sergio hints at possible Hearts exit

Paulo Sergio has indicated that he may not be manager of Heart of Midlothian next season.

The Portuguese tactician, who arrived at Tyncastle in August, has seen financially-stricken Hearts drop to sixth on the Scottish Premier League table and has hinted that he will do all he can for the club in the remainder of the season which he suggests could be he is last months at the helm.

"I'm very focused on what we can do until the end of the season," Sergio said.

"We should also be starting to think of next season and bringing in cheaper players with talent from the First Division.

"We must change the way things have been done here so we don't encounter the same problems again next season.

"I'm going to do that, if I have a contract for next season or not.

"If our board comes to me tomorrow and says I won't be here next season I'll do my job until the last day and even, if possible, with more focus.

"If I am not going to work here I will have to work elsewhere.

"I am not a rich man and I love what I do."
