Senegal starlet Konate declines Premier League interest for Russia move

Moussa Konate has shunned Premier League interest to sign a three-year deal with Russian Premier League outfit Krasnodar.

The 19-year old Senegalese striker was the subject of recent interest from Sunderland, Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion but has now opted to leave Maccabi Tel Aviv for Russia.

"I am happy to go to Russia with Krasnodar," he told Sky Sports.

"I waited on a lot of different clubs but Krasnodar showed they want me and will count on me, compared to some clubs where I didn't believe I would play first-team football yet.

"I am 19 years old and I think I can play on the biggest stage."
