Seattle Sounders have traded Mauro Rosales to Chivas USA in exchange for the rights to Tristan Bowen in addition to swapping spots in the Allocation Ranking.
The Argentine playmaker and Sounders captain has departed the club he joined in 2011 t head to Los Angeles in a move which Seattle general manager Adrian Hanauer deemed was required.
"Mauro has been an important part of our organization, both on and off the field, for the past three years," Hanauer said in a statement.
"It will be difficult to see him leave, but our salary-cap situation made this decision necessary. We wish Mauro the very best at Chivas."
