Seattle Sounders midfielder Durr happy to mix soccer and Air Force duties

Seattle Sounders supplementary draft selection Kevin Durr admits he is unsure of what his future holds for him.

The 21-year old midfielder has graduated for the Air Force but is also training with the Sounders in the bid to win a professional contract.

Durr has been impressive for the Air Force Academy team over the past four years and is now looking to do as well as possible with the Sounders despite not banking on being taken in the January draft.

"Soccer wasn't really on my mind when I made that decision," Durr told the club's official website of joining the Air Force Academy.

"I knew I was going to go to college in America and I felt like soccer would take a back seat, but it didn't. That was surprising to me, but it turned out well in the end."

He added: "I know it's a really special circumstance. I'm just taking it step by step and give it my best when I'm with the Sounders and give my best when I'm doing my job with the Air Force.

"Not a lot of people are in this position. I'd be lucky enough to have one of these opportunities. To have both is great."
