Seattle Sounders have confirmed that star forward Fredy Montero has joined Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon on loan.
The 25-year old Colombian attacker will head to Sporting ahead of the 2013/14 Portuguese season with the Lions then having the opportunity to purchase him permanently.
Montero, who joined the Sounders on a permanent basis in 2011 after a successful loan from Deportivo Cali, has recently been with homeland club Millonarios for whom he has scored five goals in 16 outings.
The move to Lisbon rests on the receipt of his International Transfer Certificate but the length of loan has not yet been disclosed.
