Seattle Sounders bring in former Houston Dynamo forward Weaver

Seattle Sounders have signed Washington native Cam Weaver following a successful trial with the club.

The 30-year old forward joins the Sounders after spending the past four-and-a-half-years with Houston Dynamo where he scored 12 goals in 81 MLS appearances.

The addition of the former Haugesund man, who kicked off his MLS career with San Jose Earthquakes in 2009, was warmly received by Sounders sporting director Chris Henderson who was thrilled to welcome an old Sounder back.

"We are happy to bring Cam back home and love what he brings us in terms of experience and success in MLS," said Henderson.

"He is dangerous in front of goal and competes for every ball. His character fits very well in our group."

Weaver, who was with the Sounders in 2006 back in the USL days, played four times for Seattle in the preseason after linking up with the squad prior to the Carolina Challenge Cup.
