Obafemi Martins has been named the MLS Etihad Airways Player of the Month for September.
The Seattle Sounders striker enjoyed a stellar month for the Western Conference's second-placed side, scoring five goals and producing one assist in five MLS outings.
Martins scored a double in the 4-2 win at Chivas USA to kick-off the month, followed up with another goal in the 3-2 home triumph over Real Salt Lake and netted another brace in the weekend's 4-2 win over Chivas.
The former Inter Milan, Newcastle United and Levante forward now has 15 goals in 27 appearances this season and becomes the second Sounders player to win the Player of the Month award after Clint Dempsey's brilliant April showing.
Martins won the award with a 58% vote ahead of LA Galaxy's Landon Donovan (13.56%), Portland Timbers' Diego Valeri (12.17%), Columbus Crew's Steve Clark (8.15%) and New England Revolution's Lee Nguyen (7.69%).
