Sean Davis is set to be given a chance to win a new deal at Bolton Wanderers by playing away on-loan.
The Bolton News says Davis has suffered horrendously with injury since he was signed on a free transfer from Portsmouth in summer 2009 but made his return for the reserves in December and is now training full-time.
After 27 months on the sidelines and two major operations, the 32-year-old playmaker could yet talk his way into a new contract at the Reebok if he impresses on loan in a similar manner to Ricardo Gardner, who spent a month at Preston North End last season.
